The joy of drawing artists!

Artists sit still…they know how to hold a pose…and they keep silent. Oh joy! So I can dive into the moment and look and draw and let the pen dance around. The Pen is happy and 20 minutes flies past. How wonderful the moment is when I’m just looking and how complicated the patterns of everything are, the way the fabric folds, the angles of her limbs. Whatever is on my mind, whatever worries or excitements they fade away…they have to in order to get the drawing right. I often feel its not me its the Pen. The Pen knows. The Pen dances around the paper. I just hang onto it and hope for the best! And then it’s my turn to pose and I do so happily. I sit still…perfectly still…it’s the least I can do.
